This film has a great etic discusion. In the film you can see that the ultra operation only prevents some of the attacs the nazis make, because if they prevented all of them the nazis would have noticed and the would have changes the code of the enigma. On one hand it's kind of cruel to prevent some attacs and others don't and let people die, but on the other hand letting this happen made the war end sooner and it prevented 14 millions of deaths. The technology used in the film, nowadays it's very old and rudimentary, but at that time, it's was something unbelievable. If Alan Turet had not invented the machine, we wouldn't have cumputers on our days.
The main difference between the UNIVAC and the ENIAC is that the first one was comercial, the other wasn't. The ENIAC was built with 18000 empty tubs, it consumed 200 kw of electric energy and could do 5000 operation per second. The UNIVAC was composed of 5000 empty tubs and was able to do 1000 operation each second.
